Garden Update November 20 2013
I have been using compost tea, liquid seaweed, blood meal, and bone meal as my organic fertilizers of choice and I must say that my plants all look very healthy and a lot of growth has occurred within the last month.
I harvested my first green beans and dragon tongue beans of the fall/winter season.
It was about 2lbs worth!!! These were planted direct sow 2 months ago. I love bush beans, they always produce so much very quickly. Too bad the Dragon Tongue beans color doesn't stay after being cooked. It turns to a greenish/yellow after cooking. I immediately washed them and put them in the fridge to get cold after harvesting so they dont wilt.

local Wal-Mart here is Galveston will price match to a 50 mile radius. Your
Wal-Mart might only match a 3 mile radius, or only to stores in the same
country etc…But in general, Wal-Marts from Galveston and Southern parts of
Houston will price match to the stores included on this list. If you have any
issues or exceptions please comment on this post.
Wal-Mart price matching
policy states that you don’t need to bring each and every grocery store ad to
show them. Just notify your cashier that you will be price matching X item to X
price that you found at X store. Please be aware, that employees are usually
told to ask for the ad anyways. Just kindly say that corporate policy says you
don’t have to.
Stay organized! I like to
write the prices and store on sticky notes that I attach to the items. The
cashiers really appreciate this.

of ground beef (73%, 80%, lean 93%, chuck, etc...)

I have a hard time with my cashiers at Wal-Mart because they don't believe me when I say Aldi prices... so tell them to look at the ad, which they should have in a binder in their store. The Galveston store is too far from the closest Aldi in Pasedena to get the physical paper ad, but it is within the 50 mile radius range that the Galveston Wal-Mart will price match too. A cashier at Wal-Mart also told me you can also price match Aldi brand milk and eggs to Wal-Mart brand milk and eggs. |
